Breathing is a natural act, but sometimes we forget to do it. We hear about this phenomenon most often when linked to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, the unexplained death of a child less than one year of age, but there are times when adults forget to breathe. Circumstances or experiences in our lives may lead us to believe that nothing we do or say is important or even noticed. Feelings such as these often lead to despair. But I like to remember a few words from Psalms 23:4 “…Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me…” Going through the valley is hard, but I remember that I’m still moving, I’m not resting in that valley. Take five minutes, that’s all you need to allow for your body to cry, then wipe your eyes and keep moving because you are not alone. Fear nothing, for the rod and staff of the Father, will guide you and protect you on your journey. Just Breathe.
