Welcome to my first blog post. I am excited about this new adventure I have embarked on and hope you find it a place where you can browse and find something that you may like. Some of the cards on this site were inspired by pins I have seen on Pinterest, and some will be my original design. When I display a card that is inspired by someone’s work, I will give them credit in the description and list the supplies I used.
Some of you may ask, “Why did I choose a “ladybug” for a slogan?” The answer is that I live in the South and for some reason(s) unknown to me, my home is infested every year with ladybugs. There is a particular time of the year when you can see hundreds of them flying towards my house. No matter what I did, sealing windows, replacing windows, closing gaps in the garage door, replacing doors, they would still get in. And once they were in, they would fly towards lighted areas. Blowing out light bulbs, crawling on the ceilings, kitchen counters, wherever they could find a light source. I learned the hard way, not to crush a ladybug. It gives off an unpleasant odor and not only that, they bite. I know, some people say that Ladybugs do not bite, well, they have never visited my home during what I call the “mating season.” I shared this with my co-workers and some of them thought it would be funny to start giving me ladybug memorabilia. Sometimes I would find ladybug statues, ladybug pens, ladybug erasers and I’m sure you get the picture. Ladybug items would mysteriously appear out of nowhere and end up on my desktop or in my mailbox. Over time, the number of ladybugs that migrate to my home decreased, but they still come. One day I was in my sanctuary(craft room) when I was joined by a ladybug, crawling on my desk. Right then I knew, it was a sign and LadyBugCard was born
