Last week I had the opportunity to talk with a church group about letting go of your past and holding on to the fact that those who are in Jesus are no longer under condemnation. In Romans 8: 1-2 it reads from the King James Version of the Bible: “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Sprit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.”
Too many times, we allow our actions from the past to hinder us in pursuing the calling that has been placed on our lives. All of the things that we should have done and did not do, the things that we did, and should not have done come together to force us onto paths that are confusing and leave us feeling lost and alone.
There is a way out of the confusion and the endless wandering. That way is through Christ Jesus. When you accept Him as your Savior, you are covered by His blood. No longer are your past sins a factor in how you view life now and always.
When you believe that there is now no condemnation, you find yourself walking into the arms of God, and with Him, there are more “hugs inside.”
Hug someone today and let them know that God loves them, in spite of their past. Until next time, it’s gonna be alright (Igba).
